Paint Provence with John
Tunstall

Long has Provence been associated with the
arts. Painters such as Cezanne, Vuillard, Matisse and even his
mentors, Seurat, Picasso and Bonnard all developed some of their
most spectacular masterpieces here.*
Charmed by the light, the staggering scenery, the rural
beauty and the fascinating array of Provencial colours, they have
all contributed to produce historical art-works for our world
heritage.
You
too can learn how to express these magic images, and have fun
while discovering your inner talent:
Come and enjoy a
painting holiday in Southern France where the light enhances
the colour of nature and where in the Spring, the yellow of
rape contrasts with the red swathes of poppies. In summer,
the colours change to the purple of lavender and the browns of
grass and soil. In the Autumn, a green returns to set off
fabulous golds, yellows and rich browns.
Painters of all
levels are welcome. The medium will be acrylic, which has the
strength of colour to replicate the surroundings and has the
benefit of drying rapidly. The guiding hand is John
Tunstall who has
painted, almost non-stop for the past 50 years, and has
exhibited regularly in London. Examples of his painting style
can be viewed from the link box below.
The holidays will
typically provide opportunities for landscape and still life
painting with a morning and afternoon schedule. Ample time is
allocated to let you relax, explore the surroundings, kool out
at the pool or if you wish continue with your painting experience.
Included in the price
for each participant will be 2 canvases, 2 boards, five
brushes and 7 tubes of acrylic paint. An apron will also be
made available, full board and accommodation at Rod's fabulous
private estate perched on a Provencial hilltop. Transfers
to and from the airport and paint sites are included.

A
few words from Rod
Peter Mayle, the author, made a fantastic success
of his books starting with "A Year in
Provence" based on his experiences in the area and he
wrote them just 30 mins to the West of my place. He, like
so many Artists, Musicians, Photographers and other Creative's
have honed and developed their inner skills here in
Provence.
I myself have been able to develop
my whole creative side here, which
includes everything about this web site, the restoration of
my estate, a passion for photography and everything
culinary. I am happy
to share these and most importantly this wonderful place with you.
John is a very talented, painter I
first met him while he was painting on a beach in
Spain and his style immediately impressed me, he has
the capacity to enthuse people and is great fun to be
with. I can quite honestly say; you will enjoy
the experience of spending a week with him and at the
same time gain valuable insight into the creative
process.
The French have kept this area a tight secret.
You will find it a very French experience
and in many respects untouched and unexploited by the
tourist machine.
I am very pleased to be
associated with this project and look forward to
sharing my experiences and some magic moments with
you.
